Alesia's Magnolias is an annual fund raising event held as a tribute to our daughter Alesia,
who passed away from an extremely rare heart condition in May 2010. She was only 2.
Alesia's Magnolias is an indoor fair for children of all ages. We offer a wide range of activities,
including arts & crafts, face painting, cupcake decorating and inflatable games - all the things that Alesia loved and more.
With a modest entrance fee that includes live performances and lunch, it has quickly become a “can't miss” event for families.
More than 2,000 people attended our 2nd edition on June 3, 2012, allowing us to raise more than $52,000 for the Pediatric Cardiology Unit
at the Montreal Children's Hospital.
In 2011, we made a pledge to raise $400,000 over the next 5 years for the new Montreal Children's Hospital.
Proceeds from our inaugural edition were used to purchase a heart monitoring machine, a critical piece of equipment for the care of a child.
We are thrilled to announce that we have also used event proceeds to fund a Patient Care Room (which will bear Alesia's name) on the Pediatric Cardiology floor at
the new hospital. This state-of-the-art private room is fully equipped for a child's needs, limiting the time spent travelling throughout the hospital to
access different services. The room includes a proper bed for parents and a comfortable family area.
Our next edition of Alesia's Magnolias will be held Sunday, April 14, 2013 at the Centre de congrès Palace in Laval. In the past two years, we have raised over $100,000, but are still $300,000 away from our goal.
Volunteer your time, make a donation, be a sponsor or just attend! However you choose to support this event, you will be showing your concern for a very worthwhile cause!
Thanks so much!
